Morningwood, self titled - CD Review

Morningwood, self titled - CD Review
Sounds like: Joan Jett meets The Strokes

Sometimes there is nothing worse than a screaming woman; other times there is nothing better.

Morningwood can range from rock to pop on their self-titled album, and typically are at their best when they are pounding out near pointless lyrics and dominating the guitar.

Second City Chicago - Show Review

Second City Chicago - Show Review
Iraqtile Dysfunction(on the Main Stage)Iraqtile, directed by Ron West, covers topics ranging from President Bush and South Side interrogators to Catholic priests and liberal bull. Just like most comedy, the current administration gets poked fun at more than the left.

The ensemble consists of Molly Erdman, Maribeth Monroe, Brian Gallivan, Matthew Craig, Claudia Michelle Wallace and Antoine McKay. The two standouts are Monroe and Gallivan.

Gallivan seems to be the quiet leader when on stage. He has the most range of the group going from a "queer eye"-type cast member to a lowly petitioner on the street. His best moment comes while portraying a priest at a Catholic church attempting to weed out a potentially gay candidate. His body type mirrors that of Ryan Stiles from The Drew Carey Show, but he is able to capture a reserved, almost shy persona within his lanky frame.

In one corner we had Dancing with the Stars. ABC's show was in the semi-finals with Jerry Rice, Stacy Keibler and Drew Lachey being the stars attempting to make it into the finals. Over on CBS was another installment of Survivor (now in its twelfth season). The current big boy on the block has been Fox's American Idol and it was the first elimination round of the season.

Spring Movie Preview - Feature

Spring Movie Preview - Feature
Hopefully America is putting the finishing touches on seeing 2005 films. The Oscars aren't until early March and the alternative is not too pretty.

Comparing the beauty of Capote or Brokeback Mountain to the quality of Underworld: Evolution or Pink Panther is a no-brainer. But eventually the Oscar nominated films will be out of the theaters and we'll still be months away from Superman, X-men 3 and the DaVinci Code.

So what do we do until then? Here is a list of a select few movies due out before the summer blockbusters invade.
The films are broken into categories based on Saturday Night Live commercials.

Bad Idea Jeans.

A bunch of guys shared thoughts such as "Now that I have kids, I feel much better about having a gun in the house." Not a good idea. Just like these movies aren't good ideas and shouldn't exist.
